One may wonder how a mother remains strong amidst the travails that she has to endure. Becoming a mother has a lot of stories to tell.
The Day You Embrace Motherhood
It all began during conception when a tiny being started to form within her and its heart began to beat. From that day on, she embraced motherhood so lovingly that she promised to take good care of herself for the baby’s sake. Despite the excitement and all, she knew that her journey would never be easy.
Motherhood: a torturous journey
The first trimester was rather torturous. She felt so lethargic and queasy all day. She threw up at the slightest scent of fried garlic and other foods and stuff. She had weird food preferences: she disliked some of her favorite foods and opted for those she did not usually eat. She became moody and quite emotional. Nevertheless, her love for the unborn child grew more deeply. She spoke, sang, and read stories to her more often each day.
After a few months, she would be jolted by her child’s playful jabs and kicks! It pleased her to know that the baby had become more responsive. However, the baby was more active at ungodly hours, thus resulting in more sleepless nights on the woman’s part. Her protruding belly, leg cramps, and backaches became more burdensome. Nonetheless, she continued to adore the little one inside her.
Then came the moment she was anxiously waiting for. The baby was about to come out! Those agonizing labor pains almost knocked her down, but she pushed with all her might. Her baby’s first cry broke her into tears. It was a breathtaking sight. Finally, she was able to hold her child in her arms.
Becoming a Mother: Difficult yet fulfilling
That momentous event in a woman’s life made her realize that she’s stronger than she could ever imagine. All the hardships that she went through are incomparable to the joy of seeing and holding her precious little one. It also made her think of her own mother and how she went through the same ordeal. Only then did she understand the joys, sorrows, and fears of her mother. She will forever be grateful to her for bringing her into the world and for raising her to be the best person that she can be.
And so her journey to motherhood continues. Her life has a major turnaround since she became a mother, but she enjoys every minute of it. She will do whatever it takes to raise her child and to teach her valuable lessons in life. She may never know what the future holds for her child, but one thing she assures: her love remains selfless and unconditional.
