Do you wish to land anΒ online jobΒ that will allow you to work from home as a mom even if you are not a college graduate? Have you heard any of the top home-based jobs in the Philippines and you doubt yourself that you can’t do it but you still want to try?
I assume you answered “Yes” to those questions above because this blog post is written for you.
By the way, I am a proudΒ work-from-home momΒ for two years now and I am NOT a college graduate. This is one of the reasons why I put up this blog. Gusto kitang tulungan.
I know how hard it is NOT to have a home-based jobΒ also and NOT being able to attend to your family when they need you.
Below, I will share with you my own list of home-based jobs in the Philippines. These list is based on my own opinion and these online jobs are those that I have already tried.
Because I was once inside your shoes, a newbie who doesn’t knowΒ how to start working from home, I have also added proven tips that I did myself and learned along the way to win the hearts of my clients.
I also have a gift for you at the end of this blog post that I believe you will love. Enjoy reading!
Home-based Jobs in the Philippines (Non-Voice)
Non-voice home-based jobs are online jobs you can do without using the phone. If you happen to be one of those who came from the Call Centers or BPO industry, this is similar to Non-voice tasks where you only interact with a customer through Chat or Text.
If you are like me, who is afraid (now overcoming fear) to take calls because you can’tΒ speak excellent English, don’t worry. There are still several online jobs out there you can try.
Here are some on my list:
Virtual Assistant Jobs
As aΒ Virtual Assistant, your job is to help businesses and entrepreneurs achieve their goals.
Many of them alreadyΒ outsourceΒ people especially from the Philippines because they cannot do their business tasks alone. They also prefer to hire online because it saves them the hassle of renting bigger office spaces in their place.Β
Furthermore, they find hiring Filipinos and other Virtual Assistants in third world countries to be inexpensive compared to when they hire someone at their area.
Finally, more and more foreign clients are getting to appreciate us Filipinos because they find our work to be WORLD-CLASS (dati naman, ‘di ba?).
So, you might be wondering, taga-saan ba ang mga clients?
They are from the different parts of the world. Some are also Asians from Singapore, China, Indonesia, Japan, etc. Most clients are from the United States of America, Australia, and European countries.
Below are some of the tasks that I have taken during my first year.
- Web Research - The client will give you instructions. All you have to do is follow and use the internet and other helpful resources to submit quality outputs.
- Graphics Design - Read and learn about Canva, PicMonkey, and Photoshop. If you find it an interesting skill to pursue, this task is for you. It also pays well in the long run.
- Audio/Video Transcription - This is a bit challenging task. You can be paid per minute of the audio that you will transcribe. A client may also give you a video to convert into text aside from audios.
Best Home-based Jobs (in my opinion)
I created this separate list of my best home-based jobs because I can help you better in these areas.
Those mentioned above are just some of the small tasks that I have encountered when I was just starting out.
I want you also to know that this 2019, you have to be different. I mean, those tasks I mentioned are common tasks that millions of online freelancers are already applying to.
However, I am not telling you not to learn those skills because they are still needed by business owners.
Let’s take dancing for example. Nanonood ba kayo ng World of Dance Philippines? ‘Di ba hindi lahat ng magaling na sumayaw ay nakakapasok? Kailangan na ma-impress niyo sina Maja, Gary, at Billy.
Paano? As a dancer, you have to have some unique moves or MAS MABIGAT na dancing skill para mapa-WOW! sila, right?
YOU HAVE TO STAND OUT FROM THE REST!
Pick #1: Content Writing
This is my number one pick because it is where I excel the most – NO, I AM NOT AN EXPERT WRITER.
I actually started online freelancing in 2012. Luckily, I am not one of those who went to Google and searched for home-based jobs in the Philippines. Why? Because I am blessed to have a sister who is already into online freelancing.
Let me be your sister and teach you how to land your first home-based job too.
Anyway, during my first year, I also struggled – there’s a lot of competition and I had no reliable internet connection.
However, I still managed to win small projects as a content writer. Being a content writer doesn’t need you to be an expert. You may find some of my blog post (pati din siguro ito), with grammatical errors. It’s not a REALLY BIG deal (you will learn in time and remember that experts also commit mistakes).
You just need to know what you are talking about. Ano-ano nga ba ang mga isusulat mo:
- Blog Posts
- Product Descriptions
- Research Materials (Academic, Business, etc.)
- Scripts
- Sales Page Contents and other Marketing Materials
For example, a client wants you to write a product description about diaper bags, what will you do?Β
Pick #2: Web Designing
Whoops! Web Designing is NOT SO-TECHIE as you think.
Today, you can proclaim yourself as a Web Developer kahit hindi ka nakapagtapos ng BSIT.
Have you heard of WordPress?
This platform is a game-changer for me. If you have been following me for long, you already knew that I finished a 2-year Course in Computer Programming pero hindi ko alam ang WordPress.
Wala pa kasi siguro iyon noong panahon namin.
But, luckily again, the owner of the school where I took my 2-year course was super generous enough to introduce me to this platform.
Today, I stand out from the rest of my competition because I have this as a unique skill aside from being a content writer.
Now, I hope you get what I meant earlier. Don’t fret, take your first step, and you will be there too!
Read my proven tips below and start rocking 2019 as an online freelancer.
Pick #3: Be a Digital Product Creator
This is a skill that I am still learning at the moment but I find it to be one of the on-demand home-based jobs in the Philippines.
Since I love giving examples, let’s do anotherΒ one. π
Let’s say, an entrepreneur wants to build an online business but all he has is money. He has resources but he doesn’t have the skills and most especially – NO ENOUGH TIME to learn. Honestly, maraming ganito sa mundo and I have already met some of them.
Now, he needs someone to create a product to sell in his online business so he would outsource people to realize his dreams.
It is possible, right?Β
Here’s something to think about. You can be the businessperson, or if you have no enough resources at the moment yet, be the product creator.
But, before that, what are the digital products that you can create and sell at home?
- Online Courses
- e-Books/Books
- Printable Items
- Apps/Games
- Stock Photos
- Digital Designs, etc.
Pick #4: Be Your Own Boss
One of the best home-based jobs in the Philippines is to be your own boss. How happy could you be if you will be, right?
I just want to share this with you because I have observed that many online freelancers now are shifting toΒ online entrepreneurship.
Going back to what I said earlier, do you want to be a product creator and work for someone else’s business or you want to be that entrepreneur?
As an online freelancer myself, I have learned a lot from my clients.
By the way, because of online freelancing, nagkaroon din ako ng goal to be my own boss one day.
Can you relate? If you do, let’s chat in the comments section. But first, read these tips I will share with you.
Tips from a Work from Home Mom
God has been so good to me and my family. So, there’s no reason for me to share these blessing. I hope that you will learn a lot from these tips.
A friendly reminder from Mother Ant:
“Take one step at a time – DON’T RUSH!”
Last year, I made a lot of mistakes which made these words my 2019 Words of the Year. You can read my blog post about myΒ 12 Biggest Lessons Learned in 2018Β to learn from my mistakes. π
- Tip #1Β – Be confident to talk about what you are capable of. Create your online profiles as if you are in front of the biggest companies in the world like Google, Amazon, etc.Β Write your cover letters/application letters as if you are talking to the President of the United States (or just think of someone who you respect the most, could be your Dad).
- Tip #2 – Do not just talk about your educational background because it is not how this industry works. Remember I said in Tip #1 to talk about what you are capable to do. These would be more about your skills and outputs in the past that is relevant to the company you want to work with.
- Tip #3 – Find your own niche. At first, it is okay to explore and find the best home-based jobs that will match your personality and knowledge. Read and learn more about the skills I have mentioned above and ask help. Once you have found your own niche, focus on building your profile to be more about it and be in front of the right people.
- Tip #4 – Before anything else, can you ask yourself first, what value can you offer to your clients? I had been talking a lot about standing out from the rest of the competition. This is one of the ways to attract a client. Read their job post carefully and identify their problems. Next, talk to them in your cover letter about how you can help them solve their problem.
Conclusion:
Working from home is not always a bed of roses especially when you are just starting out. Just focus on your Why and I know you can do it.
Honestly, I still feel depressed sometimes when I lose clients. Iyong akala mong may forever na, wala pala (chos!).
Furthermore, these list of home-based jobs in the Philippines is not for everyone. It is still up to you to discover your own calling.

I love my job right now. I’m admin assistant for my Aussie employer and I’ve been with him since 2013. I’ve worked on other jobs as a freelancer but so far, this is the best one.
I’ve been with my client since 2013 and very happy. I agree that when you’re foreign clients, your mindset will change. The culture is so different.
I dunno why wala ako luck into getting these kind of job. Instead I made my own digital marketing business tuloy. Hahaha
I am also a WAHM, and I can say that struggle is real with makulit na toddler and baby explorer! Tapos wala ka pang yaya.. Kahit non-voice hirap ako pero kinakaya. Prng masnakakapagod for me compared sa nasa corporate world or duty sa toxic na hospital, kasi pag break time, pahinga talaga. Dito sa bahay ang breaktime mo kahit toilet break my bitbit ako.. But no I’m not complaining, really lol!
Wow! I admired people working at home specially mom. I hope I can also do that. Hehehe!

God bless you hardworking mother ant! (ang cute ng blog name haha)
Thanks, Danica. There’s a story behind the name. π Sure, thing. If you are already happy sa work mo ngayon, just enjoy. Sabi nga nila, meron talagang meant to be,hihi.. like sa online freelancing din, hindi lahat meant to be. π

Hello Mariel,

These are helpful! Thank you!!
I just had my early retirement from my work in the province to be with my children who are both studying here in Manila. And i want to try online jobs but, donβt know how to start…Reading blogs like this, inspired me to go on. Thank You!
