A blogging guru advised you to publish posts consistently. Another one even told you it is better to do it every day to gain more traffic. But, you get stressed because you can’t actually publish blog posts every single day. Now, you want to know how to blog consistently without taking so much out of your time.
You came to the right place.
Some might say, “What do you know? You don’t even publish blog posts every day.”
Yeah, I don’t. Why? Because it is not NECESSARY.
As a mom blogger with a baby and also working as a content writer for clients, I can’t commit more than 10 hours a week for my blog. But, I make sure to deliver contents that are valuable to my readers even if it is not on a daily basis.
I believe you can relate to this.
Blogging consistently is a MUST. But, publishing blog posts doesn’t need to mean EVERY DAY.

What Does Blogging Consistently Mean?
“Her daughter is a consistent honor student”
You will often hear this from your friends or kumare. Pero ano nga ba ang ibig nilang sabihin? Iyong anak siguro ng taong tinutukoy nila laging may honor since grade one, right?
How about in the blogging world? Have you read any of Neil Patel’s blog posts yet? If so, you might notice that he really creates quality contents and is following a format. He is also a source of quality marketing information and is known for his SEO strategies.
He was known specifically in a niche that he consistently talks about in his blog and most importantly, he offers new and updated information on a timely manner.
Now, if you are still wondering how to blog consistently, you also have to consider other factors – not only time.
You also have to identify what specific problems your target audiences are struggling with right now.
You need to know your commitment in publishing quality contents that will address these issues.
So, if you have only one hour a day to work on your blog, plan out the process, make the most of this time, and do tasks step by step. You can also use these helpful blogging tools suggested by thinkablebox.com.
Watch the video below to learn other tools and how Ms. Karla of travelwithkarla.com plans out her blogging tasks.
How to Write Consistently
One of the many reasons why you can’t publish blog posts consistently is the writing process. It can eat a lot of your time and I understand, you want to use your time wisely.
I also hate wasting time, I really do. I don’t want to use my time just writing a blog post and end up lacking time to promote it.
Thanks to Sue Dunlevie for saying you don’t need to publish blog posts every day, you just have to create a daily blogging habit.
By the way, here’s how I write consistently:
- Planning - Take time to sit down and plan what contents to publish for a certain period. I maintain an editorial calendar where I map out my contents for three months. It also changes due to some reasons but at least I won't be lost whenever "writer's block" happens.
- Capture Inbox - Prepare a notebook or a device to write every topic that comes out of your mind. I have a capture inbox integrated in my blog content planner. You may utilize notebooks or apps on your phone depending on your activities.
- Listen to your Audience - If you feel like giving up or when you think nobody is reading your blog posts, talk to your audience. Ask them what they need. Read their comments and send them thanks. They are the blood of your blog and surely the WHY behind it.
How to Blog Consistently - 3 EASY WAYS!
In the video above, I interviewed Ms. Karla Obispo of TravelwithKarla.com. Some of you may already know her because she is one of the traffic generating bloggers in the Korean travel and lifestyle niche.
I requested her to share 3 Easy Ways on how to blog consistently and she was so generous to grant it. I also took advantage of the time she shared and asked other questions such as her favorite blogging tools, blogging tips, and more.
#1 - Set Specific Goals
Every planning really needs this so don’t fret and say,
“Goal-setting na naman, urgh!”
Ms. Karla states that writing down your specific goals for your blog is really important because it also helps you create blog posts consistently.
It would make you think:
“Paano dadami ang followers ko kung hindi pa ako nagsusulat?”
“Paano tataas ang page views ko kung wala pa akong napa-publish?”
So, obviously, setting goals will oblige you to do something in order to achieve it in the set time.
Here are other reasons why you should set specific goals:
- When you set specific goals, you can break down large projects into smaller and easier-to-do tasks.
- Writing and posting our goals in visible places attracts positive energy. Do you notice how it transforms your "depressed" status into a "feeling inspired" status?
- Goals will help you assess your past. For example, if you failed to achieve a certain goal, how will you know what mistakes have you done in the past?
- Finally, setting specific goals help us know what we really want in life because it won't be so generic. This would allow us to say, "we're living life to its fullest"
#2 - Make Deadlines
From your big goals, break down smaller goals that fits your calendar or schedule.
You can set daily, weekly, and monthly goals and then make deadlines.
Ms. Karla sets blogging for events as an example in our video interview. Sabi niya, kailangan after 24 hours or 3 days maximum, mai-publish mo na ang blog post for a certain event.
She also revealed that her big goal for 2019 is to publish 10 blog posts a month. So, to make things look and feel easier to do, she sets a smaller goal to publish 2-3 blog posts per week.
Why do you need to set deadlines? If you don’t, mapag-iiwanan ka. In the end, you will lose your creative juices and might give up blogging.
According to Ms. Karla, it would be a great way to challenge yourself and help you stick to your schedule and blog consistently.
Here are simple ways to meet your deadlines:
- Once you set the specific date for your deadline, plan your tasks backwards or list down your to-do list in a reverse order.
- Find an accountability partner who will be responsible for reminding you if you have already finished this task and that. My daughters keep track of my wall calendar. When they get home from school, one would ask me, "Ma, did you finish doing this?" I did not delegate them to do such. Nakikialam lang (kidding). 😀
- Set an alarm or a reminder using your phone. Sometimes, we forget things unintentionally. Ako, makakalimutin talaga ako kaya ako gumawa ng wall calendar para lagi kong nakikita kung ano ang mga dapat kong gawin.
- Don't forget to take breaks. If you get tired, rest. If you are sick, rest. There's nothing more important (even your deadlines) than your health.
#3 - Have a Support Group
Do you remember me saying, you need to find an accountability partner to be able to meet your deadlines?
Ms. Karla’s last tip on how to blog consistently is to have a support group. I totally agreed with this one.
Having a support group is like having an accountability partner too!
You get inspired to finish things and make you feel you are not alone.
She also pointed out other advantages of having a support group like having a competition (which in a positive way will actually prompt you to take action), collaboration, and you may gain long-term sponsors.
- Support Groups You May Join:
- Bloggers PH - Ms. Karla's support group which encourages bloggers to support one another through post sharing, commenting, and engagements.
- Passionate Bloggers and Writers - Mother Ant's (yours truly) support group where I share tips and answer questions regarding blogging and content writing.
Conclusion:
I have nothing against blogging gurus who would say you should publish blog posts every day.
You just have to take the tips given above seriously. If you think publishing blog posts will improve your blog traffic, go for it. If you have enough time or resources to do so, go on.
But, if you are still a startup blogger, you might consider focusing on other things instead.
For example, you might end up using most of your time writing blog posts without promoting it or talking to your audience.
What about your long-term goals?
Are you writing quality blog posts that are search engine optimized so that it will still gain organic traffic even if you are busy promoting other blog posts?
Are you learning new tools to help you automate and make your blogging career easier?
After reading this post on how to blog consistently, have you decided to go back to your plan or start making goal-setting seriously?

This is well-written! I hope more people will be inspired to blog consistently. Thanks for having me as your guest!
Sure, thanks also for being so generous up there, Ms. Karla. 🙂
Thank you so much for the tips po! Your blogs and emails are very helpful especially for newbie bloggers like me. Hopefully, mas marami pa kayong matulungan 🙂
I just want to ask po if may suggestion po kayo on how to optimize loading time when someone is directed to your blog. Eto po talaga yung problem ko since medyo mabagal yung loading speed sa blog ko. Does preferred theme has something to do para mas mapabilis yung loading speed? Thank you so much po!
Hello Shiela,
It may be because of your theme too. I use a minimalist theme on my site and I am now implementing the one image per blog post this 2019. The images when not compressed can also affect the loading speed of your site.
These are great tips! You need discipline to blog consistently and efficiently. I know I spend more than 10 hours a week in my blog, but I just tinker small things like font of this widget and this and that haha.
I feel you. Sometimes, hindi rin ako mapakali sa appearance ng contents, etc. sa blog ko.. Kahit wala sa To-do List biglang dun na ako nakatutok, haha!
Great tips for newbie bloggers like me! i just started blogging weeks ago. I only post once a week. I might join your group if its okay.
Sure, you are welcome! 🙂
Me too. Siguro I posts 2-3 blogs every week. Hehe. Nakakatulong nga na may nagreremind sayo if nagawa mo na ba to or what. Hehe. Thanks for the additional tips!
You’re welcome, Karla!
Super sipag mo grabe! Hahaha!
Wow! This would help bloggers out there to blog consistently and how this consistency make their blog.

Great tips! In my case i also apply the use of editorial calendar. And prioritize post with deadline, including sponsored (if any), and any post that makes me happy.
Right now, i am prepping for my June-onwards post!
Wow, that sounds great!

Very inspiring message and tips.! Sabi nga nila “Teach and you can receive” Thank you so much I really appreciate. I like to start blogging but honestly, I don’t really know how to start. Maybe I’m afraid to start writing because I’m not fluent in English.
I’m not fluent in English but I love to write so I guess we have same things in common. Go on, start first and just enjoy! 🙂
