Work at Home Job – Latest Trend
Work at home job is now becoming the trend.
The very first time I have access to internet and computer, the first thing that went to my head is how to land a job using these two tools. In short, I want a work at home job. You see, I call myself lazy because I can lie all day with a book and a coffee.
I started to search for jobs that do not require going out. Since I like reading, I thought, “How about getting paid while reading?” So I came across professions like proofreaders, editors, content writers, ghostwriters, and others. However, I was 22 at that time and I thought the world is at my hand so I did not pursue these professions. Alas for me, these professions are now in demand today.
Now, work at home jobs is at its highest. A lot of people I know are now working in the comfort of their homes. Virtual assistants are one of the highest in demand work at home profession I see these days.
Who would not want to work at home right? No traffic jams, no rush hours. You can even work straight out of bed. You don’t even have to take a bath and decide what to wear. You can work wearing your pj’s.
Reasons Why You Will Love Working at Home
1. Freedom
As mentioned above, working at home frees you from traffic jams, rush hours, pollution and other factors that you may encounter when rushing to your office.
2. More Family Time
This is especially true for moms who want to earn while watching their child grow up. Working at home gives you more time to spend for your loved ones. It also gives you the chance to be a mom, a wife, and a career woman at once. You get to finish the house chores immediately after work since your office is just beside your bedroom. You have the time to plan night outs with your friends or family.
3. More Net Income
Since you do not commute or use your car to go to work, you can save more. You also do not need to invest in clothing because you won’t need new clothes every day. You can work wearing pj’s. And yes, work at home job is one of the highest paying job these days. Why do you think a lot of professional individuals are switching to working at home jobs, right?
4. Less Stress
Yes, stress levels for work at home individuals are lesser than an office worker. You do not have to deal with office drama. You are at home so you can light a potpourri and set a relaxing space for you to work. Unlike in an office, you have to consider your workmates and all the office rules.
5. No More Yelling Bosses
Work-at-home professionals still have a boss but they only have to deal with that boss, not a “workmate-boss” or so. And most online clients are not the typical office boss that yells and makes you want to quit.
Why Working at Home is not for Everyone
Note: Working from home is not for you if you cannot deal with this list.
1. Investment
To start working at home, you need to invest a little. Laptop/desktop, stable internet connection, noise canceling headset, good webcam, back up internet provider, and maybe a generator in case of power interruption are the basic tools required to start working at home.
Some clients also enumerate the specifications needed for a laptop/desktop. Thus, you may need to spend and invest in your equipment. You must also invest time and sometimes money in joining legit platforms that offer online jobs so you can obtain potential clients/boss.
2. Social Interaction
This may become a problem for some since they are working alone at home, they may lose social peers. Unlike working in an office, you get to interact with your workmates building your social connections.
Working at home may give you time for your family, but you may also lose the potential to meet new people/friends face to face. You may meet new people online but nothing compares to when you talk to a new person face to face.
3. Stress
Although, working at home spares you the stress from office drama, working at home can also be stressful. And sometimes, workmates can be your stress relievers since you can share your problems to them and listen to some suggestions and solutions.
4. Experience
I think this is one of the hardest hindrances to starting working at home. Some clients require 2 or more years of work at home experience before they hire. Thus, some individuals who want to start this career back out even though they have the necessary skills and talents.
